My name is Aris. Aris is pronounced (heiress) and I'm not sure what the meaning is. Several years ago, when I was asked what my name meant, I replied that Aris was a Greek Sexx Goddess (what can I say I'm a romance writer). Unfortunately, my husband happened to be near, he looked over at me, rolled his eyes, and said very loudly "I wish". I've moved on to another story, which happens to be true. I was born in the seventies to a pair of hippies, real hippies. Having said that, I think I got off lucky with the name Aris. It could have been much worse, Fruit Stand or something like that. So, Aris it is.

Write A Novel In 30 Days!

Can you write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days? Seems impossible right? Well, there are a huge group of writers that actually get together and do just that—write a novel in one month.
It’s called NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month) and it’s a fantastic way to not only force you to write but it’s a great way to meet other writers. And guess what—it starts November 1st so the starting date is almost here.
I do know of one author (who was with my publisher) and he participated in NaNoWriMo a few years ago and he sold the novel the next month—pretty impressive huh?
So what are you waiting for…there is a novel in you just waiting to come out in the next 30 days.
Go check out the NaNoWriMo site, take a look around, see if there are other writers in your area that are participating, and then come back here and let me know if you singed up.
Good Luck!

Woo-Hoo All My Shows Are Back…

How sad am I. I’m so excited that all my favorite TV shows are now back on. Oh, how I’ve missed them.

Big Bang Theory (my son is 13 and just starting college so I can so relate to Sheldon)

Hawaii 5- O (I love Alex O’Loughlin)

Two and Half Men (Not sure what’s happening with Charlie Sheen)

The Middle (this show makes my husband and I feel like good parents )

Chuck (the kids love it but I’m now enjoying it too)

Mentalist (Patrick Jane makes me laugh)

There are a few news one coming out that I hope I'll enjoy...we'll see...my mom wants me to watch The Event…actually she said I MUST watch it.

My family is really big on the DVR. It seems there’s nothing good on Friday nights so that’s when we settle in and have a marathon…. Pin It
