My name is Aris. Aris is pronounced (heiress) and I'm not sure what the meaning is. Several years ago, when I was asked what my name meant, I replied that Aris was a Greek Sexx Goddess (what can I say I'm a romance writer). Unfortunately, my husband happened to be near, he looked over at me, rolled his eyes, and said very loudly "I wish". I've moved on to another story, which happens to be true. I was born in the seventies to a pair of hippies, real hippies. Having said that, I think I got off lucky with the name Aris. It could have been much worse, Fruit Stand or something like that. So, Aris it is.

~Beat the Heat~

It has been bouncing between 106 and 108 for the last several days. I am so ready for a cool down. Right now I am, Too Hot To Handle!

Other than swimming here’s how I’ve been beating the heat!
I’ve been wearing my hair up everyday!

I am eating a ton of Mango & Peach Salsa. It’s so refreshing and light.
1 peach, chopped
1 mango, chopped
3 plum tomatoes chopped
1 chopped & seeded jalapeno pepper
1 clove of garlic minced
1/3 cup red onion, finely chopped
2 or 3 tsp. fresh chives, chopped
3 or 4 tsp. fresh cilantro, chopped
1 or 2 tsp. fresh lime juice
1/4 tsp. black pepper

I have been drinking so much water. I’ve been varying what I add to it. Mint, strawberries, lemons, limes and cucumber –anything to change up the flavor. I know it's good for me but I'm so tired of drinking it!

  1. Oh my word girl! You really need to come to NY. It has been gorgeous here! mid 80's. Perfect weather. Today is is suppose to 91 and 80's the rest of the weekend. Our problem is that we have not had rain in a LONG time and everything is brown. I can't even remember the last time we mowed the lawn.
    Have some sweet tea dah-ling!

  3. Hi, I had to come back to this post.
    Today it is 77 and IT RAINED!!!!! Halleluiah!!! It is cool and gorgeous out, now maybe it will green back up again.

    1. 77 lovely! And the rain, I bet it smells so good. Enjoy it! We are having a cool down this week low 90's--I'll take it! Anything is better than 107. I would LOVE some rain.
