My name is Aris. Aris is pronounced (heiress) and I'm not sure what the meaning is. Several years ago, when I was asked what my name meant, I replied that Aris was a Greek Sexx Goddess (what can I say I'm a romance writer). Unfortunately, my husband happened to be near, he looked over at me, rolled his eyes, and said very loudly "I wish". I've moved on to another story, which happens to be true. I was born in the seventies to a pair of hippies, real hippies. Having said that, I think I got off lucky with the name Aris. It could have been much worse, Fruit Stand or something like that. So, Aris it is.

~Antique Hunting~

I spent Saturday with my son visiting local antique and secondhand stores.  We usually make a day of it by getting up early and heading out to favorite cafĂ© for coffee.

We had a great day and found some great treasures too.

The best deal we found was a Christian Dior Blazer / Coat.  It’s a custom made piece, made for Mr. B’s. My son’s first name starts with a B so we decided it was sign. The buttons are my favorite. There are two lions surrounding a royal crest.  It has the words, Je Maintiendrai. The French translation is “I will maintain”.
Ready for the price....drum roll... $7.00

I adore this cat print and I might just have to go back and get it (maybe a Christmas gift for my daughter…shhh don’t tell). He has such attitude and I know I’d smile every time I walked past him!
I couldn’t believe it when I rounded the corner and saw all these boots. All of these are second hand. I love cowboy boots…I’ll be wearing a pair in a few weeks at the Carrie Underwood concert ;o)

Love this desk.

Huge collection of old spice cans.

  1. Wow. Now that is a lot of boots... I LOVE BOOTS! =0) I also love browsing antiques and second hand stores, you can find some real gems... Including silver jewellery... I must've been a magpie in a past life... Well done on your bargains!
PS. If you go back and the cat pic' is still there, you have to get him... He's attitude! ;0)

  2. A Magpie...I love it. I always took at the jewellery but I find every thing around here is priced super high. I did find the best silver bracelet at a yard sale about 2 years ago and it's one of my faves...I wear it all the time. It was a dollar I believe.

I agree about the cat. I think I NEED him ;o)
